The old tub and surround came out and a walk-in shower went in its place, with a low threshold to step over instead of a tub wall to climb. Grab bars are fixed into blocking behind the wall rather than screwed to the surface, so they hold real weight, and there is a fold-down seat and a handheld on a slide bar for anyone who needs to sit. The rest of the room was redone to match, with a new vanity, a quartz top, and better light over the mirror. It reads as a good-looking bathroom first and an accessible one second, which is the point.
